Why The Entrepreneurs 5 Lessons™
When I stepped into the Entrepreneurial arena in 2013, I was sure of what I wanted to achieve and why, but I was uncertain of how to bring it to life. I had worked in the financial industry alongside Start Up Business Managers and from memory I began to put in place all that I had gleaned from my conversations with them. But with little to no funds available, to book a place on an Entrepreneurs workshop or programme, I’d meet my (unofficial) Business Mentor as often as I could, I’d read business books and listen to or watch Podcasts, until I was able to access a place on the School for Social Entrepreneurs Programme at no cost.
Surrounded by experts, Entrepreneurs and aspiring Entrepreneurs, together we shared our challenges, gained clarity on our ideas and were held in a safe space to connect, network, plan and strategize our way forward. This start helped me greatly!
Now Entrepreneurship is essential to any country’s economy, as individuals from all walks of life take the risk and step out of their comfort zone to innovate and create new businesses with products and services that give the existing markets a run for their money.
And even though it is essential, we know that the start of this journey can be challenging for entrepreneurs, which can lead to us second guessing our decisions along with carrying a deep uncertainty of where to go to find the right advice.
With that in mind, The Entrepreneurs 5 Lessons™ is a place for Entrepreneurs and Aspiring Entrepreneurs to find the answers to their questions, it’s where we can network and connect and receive valuable insight which are gems of wisdom that will help us become better Entrepreneurs.

Support a Cause
As you know, I’ve set up an organisation called The Transformed You providing an Intervention and Support Mentoring Service to raise the aspirations and transform the lives of Children and Young People who experience the Care System (Foster Care and Residential Children’s Homes). Now as a care experienced founded and led organisation, we are all too familiar with the stigma attached to being in Care and the narrative surrounding the mental health and emotional wellbeing issues that impact on outcomes and life chances; but through our targeted support we have seen that those with lived experience of the Care System can achieve and go on to live their version of a successful life at their own pace and on their own terms.

When a Child or Young Person in Care is in crisis and in need of Mental Health Support, they are placed on the NHS CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) waiting list. In this waiting time, the child or young person continues to deplete and fall deeper into survival mode.
To respond to this emergency, we buy in Independent Therapeutic Practitioners to support our Mentees who are in crisis. Where one Therapeutic session costs £60, our Mentees will have a minimum block of 10 In Person sessions.
