The TRANSFORMED YOU

Judith’s journey into being a Social Entrepreneur began as a result of the drastic change in the global economic climate in 2012. She was made redundant and saw this as an opportunity to take the steps towards following her passion of supporting Children In Care to remain focused on achieving their aspirations through education. However, it was here that Judith realised she needed to tailor and focus her support to those in Care who have behavioural, emotional and social difficulties hindering their wholistic success, potentially leading to a negative impact in their current life and on into their adult life.

Care Experienced and able to relate to and identify with this group of young people, Judith went on to Found and establish ‘The Transformed You’ working closely with Local Authority Children’s Services Departments and Local Authority Virtual Schools, delivering The Transformed You Intervention and Support Mentoring Programmes, designed to help transform the lives and raise the aspirations of these Children and Young People In Care and Care Leavers, identified as having behaviour, emotional and social difficulties, hindering their success.

The essence of the Programmes, are to guide each of our Mentees through a transformative process to change the way they think about themselves, and empower them with Life Skills for them to Believe and See that they have the ability to achieve and have the life and future they hope for. We also amplify and bring an understanding of their True Voice at relevant Children’s Social Care Meetings, as they journey through the Care System.

The Transformed You also deliver Training Courses to help equip and empower those who Foster, Support, Teach, Children and Young People In Care and Care Leavers, with the knowledge, skills and solutions needed to help make a lasting impact and difference in their lives.

The Transformed You is also the home of The Black Care Experience shaping a better Care Experience for Black Children and Young People, to see that every black child and young person remains connected to their culture, identity and heritage as they journey through the Care System.

THE STRONG + BEAUTIFUL PROJECT

A firm believer that dreams and purpose have more than one pathway, Judith went on to Found and establish ‘The Strong + Beautiful Project’.

This journey began as a result of the #BringBackOurGirls Campaign that called for the World to take a stand and unite their voice, for the safe return of the Chibok school girls that had been kidnapped by Boko Haram in April 2014. The kidnapping also highlighted that girls across the globe in various countries were being denied the basic human right of having access to an education. These revelations caused Judith to join the global campaign and teamed up with her friends to collaborate on the recording of a song she had written called ‘Strong + Beautiful’.

The song carries a powerful message stating that no matter what the School Girls are having to face, we still see them as ‘Strong + Beautiful’ and encourage them to hold on to their dreams as we do our best through this message to help push for their release.

The song also speaks into the lives of girls and women all over the world, empowering them to believe that no matter what they have been through or are going through they are Strong + Beautiful and to never stop going after their dreams.

The ‘Strong + Beautiful’ Single was released in November 2014 at the Strong + Beautiful Official Single Release Event at London’s Premier Venue ‘HIDEAWAY’, where funds were raised and donated to The Malala Fund who work to support girls into education and have close links with the families of the kidnapped girls.

As a result of working with young girls in the UK and having a few ‘round table talks’ with friends and other females, The Strong + Beautiful Project evolved to hosting ‘Empowering Girl Talk Events’ passing on valuable lessons from Judith’s experience and our Female guest Speakers, of how to overcome the internal obstacles of low self-esteem, low self-confidence, to not always believing in one self, in order for the 'Everyday Female' to find her purpose, live her purpose and live her dreams.

The ethos of the Project was to host these Events to Empower, Inspire and Support the 'Everyday Female' to find her 'Voice' and confidently use it to make a difference in her life and in her world, thus being Strong + Beautiful.

Strong + Beautiful was defined as:

•               STRONG: building self-esteem, confidence and resilience

•               BEAUTIFUL: taking the steps towards finding and living in your purpose which will allow you to live Your Dreams

After a Strong + Beautiful 4 Year journey, the decision was made to bring the Project to an end.
